Whittington Parish Council

PARISH COUNCIL UPDATE – SEPTEMBER 2019

• Tree works are to begin in Great Whittington on Monday 23rd September.  Various trees are to be crown lifted and removed according to the findings of the Tree Survey.
• There is a vacancy for one Parish Councillor.
• Money has been raised to provide a War Memorial in Great Whittington.  This will be a carved mill stone which will be installed in the wall by the Village Hall.
• The pothole on the Great Whittington to Matfen road had been reported.  This is still to be repaired and will be reported again.
• Speed of farm vehicles through Great Whittington is a concern.  Letters will be sent to the farms in question requesting vehicles to travel through the village with consideration.
• There is a campaign in Hallington to provide a defibrillator.  This is being pursued.
